This week, we created a flipped teaching video for the Current Issues in Teaching course. In the flipped classroom model, students are expected to acquire knowledge independently before class by using learning materials such as videos, readings, or podcasts. We completed this assignment as a group, and throughout the process, we experienced both challenges and benefits related to collaborative work.

In particular, we had to consider time management and application selection. We tried different video creation applications; however, most of them required premium or paid features, or their interfaces were too complicated and difficult to use. Therefore, we decided to use Canva, as it provides free basic features and an easy-to-use interface. Working with Canva was practical for us because its ready-made templates facilitated the process, and editing videos did not take much time.

Each member of the group completed their assigned duties; therefore, the overall process required more time. However, in the end, we successfully created the video by combining all the individual parts.

Revised version of our video:

we updated our flipped video based on the feedback we received from our classmates and made several additions. We added sound effects such as chalk writing, erasing sounds, and a school bell ringing, and we balanced the audio levels. The quiz section was missing question numbers; therefore, we added them. In addition, the comparison and summary sections were incomplete, so we included these sections and added a practice activity. We also incorporated a table in the comparison section. Furthermore, we completed the ASSURE lesson plan. Finally, we uploaded the video we created in Canva to YouTube.
